Altana has raised over $322 million in total funding, reaching a $1 billion valuation with its $200 million Series C in July 2024, led by Thomas Tull's US Innovative Technology Fund (Crunchbase). The platform maps global value chains, connecting buyers, suppliers, and government agencies around a shared view of who makes what and where. Public reporting names UPS, Maersk, and US Customs and Border Protection among its users, and the company organises more than 140 million buyer-supplier connections into a single navigable network. When a tariff shifts or a supplier three tiers deep gets flagged, that map is what turns it into a decision.

Kargo.ai

Kargo raised $42 million in Series B financing in December 2025, led by Avenir (BusinessWire). It installs camera towers at loading docks that read freight as it moves, verifying inbound and outbound shipments in real time without a person scanning anything. Kargo reports tripling annual revenue from 2024 to 2025 and growing its enterprise base from three customers to more than 45, including Mercedes-Benz and Tillamook (company-reported). The spotlight below gets into why the dock, of all places, turned out to be a hard engineering problem.

Optimal Dynamics

Optimal Dynamics raised $40 million in Series C funding in May 2025, led by Koch Disruptive Technologies (Crunchbase). Its software makes the high-stakes calls in trucking: which loads to take, how to plan them, where to send the fleet. Carriers including Uber Freight, CRST, and KBX Logistics run the platform against operational data they already collect, and the company reports customers seeing weekly revenue per truck rise by 17 to 24 percent (company-reported). The product connects into the TMS and fleet systems already in place.

Dyna Robotics

Dyna Robotics raised $120 million in Series A funding in September 2025, with participation from the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund alongside lead investors Robostrategy, CRV, and First Round Capital (company announcement). The round valued the company above $600 million. Dyna builds a general-purpose robotics foundation model, DYNA-1, designed to handle a range of warehouse tasks rather than one predefined motion.

Lumari

Lumari is a YC-backed procurement automation platform (YC X25) applying agentic AI to direct materials sourcing. It deploys always-on AI agents that send RFQs, chase supplier responses, pull pricing out of PDFs and emails, and keep purchase orders moving, all layered on top of a company's existing ERP rather than replacing it. Founded by former Stripe, Google, and Uber engineers, Lumari targets the tactical procurement work that still eats a buyer's week: the follow-ups, the quote comparisons, the status chasing.

The loading dock is where the digital supply chain meets the physical one, and it has stayed fairly analogue. Trucks arrive, freight moves, and someone logs the pallet counts into a system a few hours later, if at all. Kargo puts computer vision on that: camera towers read inbound and outbound shipments, flag damage and miscounts as they happen, and feed cleaner data into warehouse systems. Its customers tend to run distribution centres for Fortune 500 manufacturers, where a bad count rarely stays small for long.

A camera tower at the dock sees a few million pallets a week. Every one of them has to turn into a number someone in the warehouse will act on before the truck pulls away.

Each truck sets off the same sequence, and it needs to finish before the next one backs in:

  • Classify the stream of visual events coming off the dock.

  • Reconcile each read against the paperwork, catching mismatches a manual count would miss.

  • Push it into the WMS fast enough to change what happens next, not to log it later.


The receiving systems come from different vendors, speak different formats, and assume a person will handle exceptions. Kargo has to close that loop with far less manual intervention, holding up well enough that operators trust the numbers. The demanding parts are the usual ones in operations software: latency judged against an arriving truck, edge cases that show up damaged or mislabelled, and integration with whatever WMS the customer runs. 

For a team deciding what to build in-house, Kargo suggests a split:

  • Keep the differentiator close. The vision model and operational insight are the product, and they belong near the people who know the domain.

  • Reconsider the layer beneath. Data pipelines, legacy integrations, and the testing that keeps an operations platform steady rarely win a customer alone, and they still need to be dependable.
